Exelixis is focused on developing cabozantinib in a variety of cancer indications. To date, cabozantinib has shown objective responses in 12 of 13 tumor types studied and demonstrated activity against metastatic bone lesions in five tumor types, including prostate, renal, breast, and thyroid cancers, and melanoma. Given this broad activity profile, we believe that cabozantinib has the potential to become both a novel therapy and an oncology franchise in its own right.
In addition to cabozantinib, Exelixis has a diverse portfolio of partnered and out-licensed compounds that has created significant value in recent years and offers the opportunity to create additional value in the future. The potential milestones that could be generated by this portfolio approach $4 billion, and additional revenue would be generated through royalties on sales of products should any of these compounds be commercialized. We also have several other compounds available for partnering, which could generate additional revenue through up-front and milestone payments and potential royalties.
